Honors Private First Class Andrew N. Meari, who was killed in action on November 1, 2010 in Afghanistan while serving with the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division

PFC Meari died heroically after stepping toward a vehicle-borne suicide bomber to absorb the explosion and protect his squad members near Combat Outpost Senjeray

Requests the Illinois Department of Transportation to erect plaques or signs at suitable locations along the designated highway section in accordance with state and federal regulations

Directs that copies of the resolution be presented to PFC Meari's mother, Denise Williams of Plainfield, and the Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary
