Illinois Auditor General directed to conduct a performance audit of the Illinois Department of Employment Security's administration of the Unemployment Insurance Act.

Audit focuses on IDES failures during COVID-19 pandemic including system deficiencies, processing errors, data breaches, identity theft, and unemployment insurance fraud.

IDES and all relevant state agencies required to cooperate fully and promptly with the Auditor General's office during the audit.

Auditor General must commence audit as soon as possible and distribute final report in accordance with Section 3-14 of the Illinois State Auditing Act.
