Expresses Illinois House and Senate support for the Clean Tech Economy Coalition's application to the federal Build Back Better Regional Challenge administered by the U.S. Economic Development Administration.

The Clean Tech Economy Coalition, led by mHUB and supported by 19-member coalition, is seeking $75-$99 million in federal funding and must submit final application by March 15, 2022.

Coalition focuses on six core principles: establishing an Entrepreneurship Clean Tech Innovation Center, driving equitable clean energy growth, decarbonizing manufacturing, building workforce capacity, modernizing grid infrastructure in coal-impacted communities, and deploying electric charging infrastructure in southern Cook County and Chicago.

Illinois commits to supporting the project with state budget funding and directs copies of the resolution be delivered to mHUB and the coalition for inclusion in the federal challenge application.

Over 150 organizations expressed support for the coalition during the first round, including major universities, the Illinois Manufacturers' Association, Argonne National Laboratory, and numerous state and local government entities.
