Acknowledges the serious impact of mental health issues in Illinois and commits to improving awareness and treatment, noting that 43.7 million U.S. adults have a mental disorder and only 58.7% of those with serious mental illness receive treatment.

Urges General Assembly members to conduct community forums and discussions to promote mental health awareness and access to resources.

Encourages General Assembly members and all Illinois school districts to post mental health information and local treatment resources on their public websites.

Encourages Illinois school districts to implement mental health screenings to identify students with mental health problems.

Urges the federal government to improve mental health awareness, treatment, and funding and directs copies of the resolution be sent to President Biden, the U.S. House of Representatives, and U.S. Senate.
