Establishes the Illinois Good Food Purchasing Policy Task Force to study current state food procurement and explore implementation of Good Food Purchasing standards that prioritize healthy, sustainable, locally sourced, and equitably sourced foods.

Task Force consists of 22 members including the Lieutenant Governor, legislative leaders, state agency directors, chief procurement officers, and representatives from local/national food advocacy, environmental, labor, and farm-animal welfare organizations, all serving without compensation.

Department of Agriculture shall provide administrative support to the Task Force, which will select its own chairperson at the first meeting.

Task Force must submit an interim report to the Governor and General Assembly by January 1, 2022, and a final report by January 1, 2023, at which point the Task Force is dissolved.

Good Food Purchasing emphasizes nutrition, affordability, locality, sustainability, fair compensation for producers and workers, safe working conditions, and humane animal treatment throughout the food supply chain.
