Department of Energy would be required to create a Stranded Nuclear Waste Task Force to study existing resources and establish a grant program to assist localities near nuclear power plants

Illinois communities, specifically Zion, would benefit from relief and compensation for dealing with health and environmental risks from stranded nuclear material

Resolution directs copies be sent to the President, congressional leadership, and all members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation
