Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Anthony James Bradford, born November 2, 1964, in Chicago.

Bradford was the first African American student to serve as student representative on the Western Illinois University Board of Trustees and received his bachelor's degree in May 1995.

Served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer in Haiti from fall 1996, working as an agro business consultant, ESL teacher, and grant writer; adopted a Haitian orphan named Chelot.

Taught history and political science for over 20 years in Chicago, Baltimore, and Florida public school systems; served as president of the 9600 Princeton Block Club and received multiple community service awards.

A suitable copy of the resolution shall be presented to Bradford's family as an expression of the House's deepest sympathy.
