Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Marguerite Ann "Marge" (Phillips) Britton of Chicago, who passed away on April 8, 2022

Marge Britton was born in Chicago on July 7, 1937, graduated from Mundelein College in 1959, and worked as a feature editor for the Skokie News and in public relations for the Chicago Realtors Association

Founded the Lakewood Balmoral Residents' Council in 1969 and served as its president from 1970 to 1972; served as vice-president of the Edgewater Community Council from 1974 to 1985

Worked for the City of Chicago and multiple elected officials including Alderwoman Marion Volini as chief of staff and Alderwoman Mary Ann Smith

House extends sincere condolences to her surviving family including her five children, ten grandchildren, and directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to her family
