Congratulates Lori Casey, Ed.D. on her retirement as superintendent of Woodland School District #50 after 24 years of service.

Casey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Special Education from Loras College (1988), Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from National Louis University (1992), and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University (2018).

Casey held positions including special education supervisor (1998), assistant principal (2000), principal of Woodland Primary School (2005), associate superintendent (2010), and superintendent (2020).

During her tenure, Casey served on multiple committees including contract negotiations, staff development, assessment, reconfiguration, multicultural affairs, and response to intervention, and led the district through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Casey received numerous awards including Special Education District of Lake County's Outstanding Educator of the Year (1991), Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year (1998), National School Public Relations Association's Golden Achievement Award (2014), and Thought Exchange Bold Leadership Award (2021).
