James Edward Wilson passed away on April 26, 2022, and the Illinois House of Representatives expresses condolences to his family and loved ones.

Wilson was born November 9, 1936, in Galesburg; attended Galesburg High School where he played on the Silver Streaks basketball team; and graduated from Western Illinois University.

Served as a jet engine mechanic in the U.S. Air Force and had a career at Fermi National Laboratory where he met his wife of over 35 years, Shirley Payne.

After retirement, Wilson worked as a car salesman, school bus driver, devoted deacon at Logan Street Missionary Baptist Church, and past master at W.L. Darrow Masonic Lodge #10 in Galesburg.

The House of Representatives directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Wilson family as an expression of sympathy.
