Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Ian Jerrod Dabney, who passed away on June 3, 2022.

Dabney was born December 24, 1987 in Chicago to Jerome and Argentina Dabney and was raised on Chicago's West Side and in Oak Park.

Dabney worked as a volunteer Sports Enrichment and Advocacy Specialist at the Linda and Bill Gantz Boys and Girls Club of Chicago and founded For the Win, LLC to train young athletes in life skills, fitness, coaching, and mentoring.

Dabney developed relationships with NBA trainers, referees, and players including three-time NBA champion Andre Iguodala, inspired by his lifelong admiration for Kobe Bryant.

Dabney is survived by his wife Troyah, an expected daughter, his parents, four siblings, and numerous extended family members.
