Recognizes Officer Rebecca Hayes and Officer Chad Vargas of the Oswego Police Department for lifesaving actions on June 12, 2022.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision where a car struck a dump truck at Harvey Road and Wolf's Crossing, with the car's engine on fire.

Officer Hayes rescued the trapped driver while Officer Vargas extinguished the flames, then both officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived and transported victims to the hospital.

The Oswego Police Department recognized the officers' heroic response and the driver was charged with driving under the influence and other charges.

The House of Representatives directs that copies of the resolution be presented to Officers Hayes and Vargas and Police Chief Jeffrey R. Burgner as recognition of their bravery and commitment to public safety.
