Illinois House of Representatives expresses condolences on the death of LeRoy Franklin Lilly, who passed away on July 6, 2022, at age 92.

Lilly was born March 30, 1930, in Panola County, Texas; served in the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1950; and worked as a mechanical engineer at American Can Company (now U.S. Steel) for 42 years before retiring.

Lilly married Barbara Louise Rainey on November 17, 1957; had five children; was a Mason, Shriner, and member of VFW American Legion Post 13; and was active in multiple churches throughout his life.

Lilly is survived by his wife of 65 years, four children including State Representative Camille Y. Lilly, multiple grandchildren including former NBA player Evan M. Turner, and great-grandchildren.

House directs a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Lilly's family as an expression of sympathy.
