Congratulates Charles Matthews on his retirement as president and CEO of Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas at the end of June 2022 after more than 40 years in the energy industry

Matthews served seven years leading Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas, which provide natural gas service to nearly one million customers in Chicago and 54 northern suburban communities

Prior experience includes nine years in executive positions at We Energies and serving as president and CEO of Jamaica Public Service Company Limited, where he led the transition from government to private ownership

Matthews holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Talladega College, a master's degree in Finance from Clark Atlanta University, and completed the Wharton Business School's executive program in utility finance

Recognizes his extensive board memberships including the American Gas Association, Chicago Urban League, Navy Pier, Rush University Medical Center, and United Way of Metro Chicago
