Cleve Klopfenstein, born May 19, 1947, passed away on July 23, 2022; he graduated from Gridley High School and Illinois State University, served in the U.S. Army including deployment to Vietnam, and married Kathleen Steffen on August 13, 1972.

Worked as a high school teacher at Peoria Central High School and Peoria Alternative High School (retiring in 2005), and also worked in commodities trading at Heinold Commodities.

Active member of his local church and involved in Christian ministry organizations and community service; known for enthusiasm for life, hobbies including fishing, photography, antique cars, and storytelling.

Survived by his wife Kathleen, two children (Crystal Wettstein and Aaron Klopfenstein), three grandsons (Caleb, Carter, and Cooper), three brothers, three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Illinois House of Representatives mourns his passing and extends condolences to his family and friends; a suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to the Klopfenstein family.
