Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Leah A. Walker, who passed away on August 25, 2022.

Leah Walker was born February 22, 1942 in Chicago to Rudolph and Lois Armstrong; graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1960; and worked as an operating room technician.

She was known for her passion for cooking and baking, love of reading, devotion to family gatherings and classic movies, and commitment to women's rights and equality.

Leah Walker is survived by five children (Greshynka, Rommel, Thrishka, Keisha, and Neitzche), a bonus son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends.

House directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Leah Walker's family as an expression of condolences.
