Honors U.S. Army Air Corps Private First Class John L. Ferguson, a member of the 28th Materiel Squadron who was captured when Bataan Peninsula surrendered to Japanese forces on April 9, 1942

PFC Ferguson endured the 65-mile Bataan Death March and was held at Cabanatuan POW camp in the Philippines, where he died on December 10, 1942 and was buried in Common Grave 917

Remains from Common Grave 917 were disinterred in March 2018 and sent to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency laboratory at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam for identification

PFC Ferguson's remains were scheduled to return home and be laid to rest in Gridley, Illinois on October 1, 2022

Directs copies of the resolution be presented to Ferguson's surviving family members, the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs, the Secretary of Transportation, and the American Battle Monuments Commission
