Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Karen Susan Elmira Johnson Jones, who passed away on September 10, 2022.

Karen Jones was born January 12, 1961, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in 1982 and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 2001.

Worked at Abbott Laboratories for 33 years, retiring as Communications and Quality Operations Program Manager, and served as CEO of The Chocolate Chip Association STEM/STEAM program for 20 years.

Survived by her husband of 38 years Glenn, three children (Glen Alexander, Christopher Owen, and Joy Cassandra), two granddaughters, and numerous family members and friends.

House extends sincere condolences to the family and directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to Karen Jones's family.
