Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Pastor Gicele "Gigi" Wray-Lindley, who passed away on October 1, 2022.

Pastor Wray-Lindley founded Shining Star Youth and Community Services in 2004, which grew into a multi-center bilingual child care operation serving 407 children and employing over 100 people.

She founded The Wray Family Foundation in 2014 to provide mentoring and financial support to aspiring community service leaders pursuing formal education.

Pastor Wray-Lindley co-founded Child Care Advocates United in 2015, a professional organization for child care providers and early childhood educators in Illinois, and launched Transformation Church International in 2017 with her husband Omar Lindley.

Condolences are extended to her surviving family members: husband Omar Lindley and daughters Serenity Blessing and Heavenly Blessing.
