Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Ralph Eugene Sackett, who passed away on August 18, 2021.

Sackett was born October 27, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, attended Illinois Wesleyan University where he played baseball, and married Alicia Ann Westwood during their senior year.

Had a 20+ year coaching career in baseball, basketball, and cross country at multiple high schools and universities, then transitioned to banking with Bloomington Federal Savings & Loan in 1975 and later real estate development in Champaign.

Survived by his wife of 61 years (Alicia), four children (Robb, Jill, Todd, and Matt), 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

House extends condolences to Sackett's family and friends, and will present a suitable copy of the resolution to his family.
