Congratulates the 2022 Mount Carmel High School girls golf team, the Lady Aces, on winning the 2022 IHSA Class 1A Girls Golf State Championship held at Red Tail Run in Decatur with a team score of 600, defeating second-place Boylan Catholic High School by 35 strokes.

Lady Aces set the IHSA State Record for Class 1A Girls Golf Teams with a score of 600, breaking their own previous record of 604 from the prior year, and maintained an undefeated 69-0 season record.

Team roster includes Emily Gottman, Lillian Gottman, Maria Kennard, Miley Kennard, Zeme Moore, Alexis Wymer, and Madelyn Young under Head Coach Karin Kelsey and Assistant Coach Abbey Leighty.

Madelyn Young won the 2022 IHSA Class 1A Individual Championship with a two-day score of 137, placing eight strokes under par (-7), and the team placed eighth in the nation at the PGA High School Golf National Invitational in Pinehurst, North Carolina in June 2022.

Lady Aces achieved back-to-back state championships in 2021 and 2022 with a combined perfect record of 147-0 and have earned eight regional championships, four sectional championships, and two state championships since establishment in Fall 2008.
