Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of David Ernest "Dave" Higgins of Peoria, who passed away on November 14, 2022.

Dave Higgins served as a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, was stationed in Germany, and married Connie J. Kellerstrass on August 25, 1976.

Retired in 2009 from Road Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 669 after 30 years of service, where he worked in various capacities including as an organizer.

Volunteered extensively with the Heart of Illinois United Way, NALC food drive, and American Red Cross as a blood donor.

Survived by his wife, two daughters (Kelli and Kori), five grandchildren, and extended family; the resolution extends condolences to his family and loved ones.
