Congratulates the 2021-2022 North Clay High School boys baseball team (the Cardinals) on winning the 2022 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 1A State Baseball Championship.

Team defeated Brown County Hornets 12-4 in the championship game at Dozier Park in Peoria on June 4, 2022, achieving North Clay's first-ever state championship and first Clay County state championship.

Cardinals compiled 33 wins with a record of 26-1 in fall and 33-6 in spring, outscored opponents 419-120, and achieved an 8-0 National Trail Conference record.

Individual achievements include Donnie Zimmerman selected for 1A All-State First Team and NTC Conference MVP; Holden Clifton, Collyn Ballard, Carson Burkett, and Brady Ingram named NTC All-Conference selections.

Directed that suitable copies of the resolution be presented to the team, coaches, North Clay Unit #25 Superintendent Travis Wyatt, and High School Principal Keith Price.
