Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Walter Arnold Jones Sr., born November 7, 1952, a native of Morgan Park who graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1970 and earned a Psychology degree from Chicago State University.

Worked at UPS, Sherwin Williams, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago; later managed the dock at 300 North LaSalle and owned his own renovation company.

Published novel "Blue: A Story of Extraordinary Courage" in 2014 and was a musician, songwriter, guitarist, builder, and artist.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Russell Donald Jones III, and son Walter Arnold Jones Jr.; survived by wife Lesa, six children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family.

House directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Walter Jones's family as an expression of sympathy.
