IL HR1017

Amends House Rule 49.5 to extend the deadline for remote participation and voting in House sessions from June 1, 2022 to January 11, 2023.

Allows members to participate and vote remotely on any matter before the House, provided a quorum of members remains physically present at the session location.

Remote members are counted in quorum roll calls and considered present for all purposes under House Rules, but are not entitled to per diem reimbursements unless they appear in person before the Clerk.

Actions taken by remotely participating members have the same legal effect as if the member were physically present.

Authorizes the Speaker to establish additional procedures for remote participation or voting under this rule.
