Memorial resolution honoring former Harwood Heights Mayor Ray Willas, who passed away

Ray Willas was born March 17, 1932, and served as an engineer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War from 1952-1954

Served as Mayor of Harwood Heights from 1973 until his retirement in 2001, following earlier service on the Zoning Board of Appeals and as village trustee

Held leadership positions including president of the Leyden-Norwood Park Municipal League, president of the West Central Municipal League, and member of the Illinois Municipal League Board

Extends condolences to his wife Barbara of 64 years, daughter Mary Kay Pawlak, and grandchildren, with copies of the resolution to be presented to family members
