James J. Niemerg of Dieterich died on November 2, 2022, and the Illinois House of Representatives expresses condolences to his family and loved ones.

Born December 5, 1930, in Chicago to Philip and Marie Niemerg; served in the military during the Korean War; married Nancy G. Lange on June 9, 1956, and later married Barbara Glassford in 2012.

Worked at Sargent & Lundy in Chicago before purchasing his maternal family farm in rural Bishop Creek in 1966, which he operated into the late 1990s.

Survived by his wife Barbara, six sons, one daughter, 30 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and two siblings; preceded in death by his first wife Nancy and several family members including his parents and brother Paul.

A suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to the Niemerg family as an expression of sympathy.
