Congratulates Representative Jim Durkin for his distinguished service as House Republican Leader for nearly a decade across the 98th, 99th, 100th, 101st, and 102nd General Assemblies.

Recognizes Durkin's career accomplishments including creating the Invest in Kids Tuition Tax Credit Program, negotiating state education funding formula reforms, and establishing the nation's strictest ethylene oxide standards.

Acknowledges Durkin's work on property tax reduction, pension system reform, and ethics reform, as well as his role as ranking Republican during Governor Blagojevich's 2008 impeachment proceedings.

Notes Durkin's service as State Chairman for U.S. Senator John McCain's 2000 and 2008 presidential campaigns and as Chairman of the Illinois Delegation at the 2008 Republican National Convention.

Thanks Durkin for his service as he steps down from the House Republican Leader position, effective the 103rd Illinois General Assembly.
