Illinois House of Representatives thanks Representative Tim Butler for his distinguished service to the State of Illinois and residents of the 87th District (Logan, Menard, Sangamon, and Tazewell counties) since 2015.

Rep. Butler brought more than 20 years of public service experience, including work as district chief of staff to former Congressmen Ray LaHood and Rodney Davis, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University in 1990.

Rep. Butler served as Assistant House Republican Leader and was a leading advocate for transportation, tourism, and economic benefits related to Illinois history and culture, including bipartisan work on Scott's Law improvements and recognition of Illinois Statehood Day.

Rep. Butler received numerous awards including Friend of Agriculture (twice), Illinois Chamber of Commerce Champion of Free Enterprise Award, Guardian of Small Business Award (twice), 2019 Illinois Association of Park Districts Outstanding Legislative Leadership Award, and 2018 Environmental Leadership Award.

A suitable copy of the resolution is to be presented to Rep. Butler as an expression of the House's esteem and respect as he begins the next chapter of his life.
