Congratulates State Representative Keith Sommer on his retirement from the Illinois General Assembly after 24 years of service beginning in January 1999.

Recognizes Sommer's prior service on the Tazewell County Board, Morton Village Board, as Tazewell County recorder, and as chair of a local regional planning commission.

Honors his legislative achievements including a 2015 adoption reform bill easing international adoptions for Illinois families and legislation creating a dyslexia identification guide for school personnel.

Acknowledges his advocacy for lower taxes, local control, Second Amendment rights, small businesses, and his successful designation of pumpkin pie as the state pie honoring his hometown of Morton.

Extends best wishes to Sommer, his wife Deb, and their two daughters for his retirement years.
