Urges the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts and Illinois Supreme Court to implement the Hope Card program for domestic violence survivors.

Hope Card system, established under Public Act 102-0481 with an effective date of January 1, 2022, provides laminated cards containing order of protection information including case number, active dates, and respondent photograph.

Laminated Hope Cards are more durable and convenient than paper documents, allowing domestic violence survivors to easily share protective order information with employers, schools, and other relevant parties.

Multiple states including Montana, Idaho, Indiana, and Virginia have already implemented similar Hope Card programs.

Legislation passed unanimously in the Illinois State Legislature in spring 2021 and was approved by the Governor on August 20, 2021, but the Illinois Supreme Court has not yet begun implementation.
