Amends the Cook County Article of the Illinois Pension Code regarding proof of disability requirements for pension benefits

Expands physician certification options by allowing disability proof to be furnished by a physician "appointed by or acceptable to" the board, rather than only physicians appointed by the board

Gives the board flexibility to extend the time between required medical examinations for disabled employees receiving benefits, changing from mandatory annual exams to "at least once a year or a longer period of time as determined by the board"

Maintains existing waiver provisions allowing the board to waive physician requirements for duty disability claims covered by Workers' Compensation or for ordinary disability maternity claims of up to 8 weeks
