Allows retired firefighters who have not reached compulsory retirement age and have received a retirement annuity for 5 years or less to claim an occupational disease disability benefit if they have a qualifying condition.

Retired firefighters receiving an occupational disease disability benefit cannot simultaneously receive a retirement annuity during the benefit period.

The occupational disease disability benefit terminates when the firefighter reaches compulsory retirement age.

Exempts the state from reimbursement obligations under the State Mandates Act for implementing this amendatory act.
