Amends the Supreme Court Act to authorize the Supreme Court marshal's office to employ court security officers responsible for maintaining security in courthouses and courtrooms occupied by the Supreme or Appellate Courts.

Court security officers have arrest authority limited to performance of their official security duties, matching the authority of similarly certified county sheriff officers.

Court security officers may carry weapons at their place of employment and while traveling to and from work if trained and qualified by law.

Court security officers must either complete basic court security officer training approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board or receive a waiver based on prior law enforcement experience or training.

The act takes effect upon becoming law.
