Amends Section 14-1.02 of the School Code regarding special education services for children with disabilities.

Extends special education services eligibility for students whose 22nd birthday occurs during the school year, allowing them to receive services through the end of the regular school term instead of only until the day before their 22nd birthday.

Students continue to be eligible for special education services between ages 3 and 21, with the amendment providing an exception for those turning 22 mid-school year.

Effective date: July 1, 2021.
