Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, school districts must provide students in grades 10-12 the opportunity to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test during regular school hours on school grounds.

School districts must also allow students in grades 10-12 to consult with military recruiters during regular school hours in a location on school grounds.

School boards determine by policy the specific date, time, and location during the school year when the ASVAB test and recruiter consultations are offered to students.

The bill applies to all school districts in Illinois under both standard district provisions (Section 10-20.73) and high school district provisions (Section 34-18.67).
