IL SB0598

Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law to add Section 2310-705 requiring the Department to prioritize MC/DD facilities (facilities serving individuals with mental illness and developmental disabilities) during public health emergencies.

Requires MC/DD facilities to receive the same prioritization level as long-term care facilities for infection control and vaccine distribution purposes during public health emergencies.

Defines MC/DD facilities and long-term care facilities according to Section 1-113 of the MC/DD Act and Nursing Home Care Act respectively.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
