IL SB0600

Establishes a Prescription Drug Repository Program requiring the Department of Public Health to create rules allowing individuals to donate unused prescription drugs for use by eligible recipients through participating pharmacies.

Donated drugs must meet strict requirements: original sealed packaging, not expired, not adulterated or misbranded, prescribed by a practitioner, not controlled substances, and verified by a pharmacist before dispensing.

Uninsured and underinsured individuals receive priority access to donated drugs; recipient pharmacies may charge a handling fee but donated drugs cannot be resold.

Provides civil and criminal immunity for drug manufacturers and individuals acting reasonably and in good faith when donating, accepting, or dispensing prescription drugs under the program.

Amends five related state acts to exempt persons engaged in donating, packaging, repackaging, or labeling prescription drugs under the program from certain regulatory restrictions.
