State Board of Education must prepare and distribute state, school district, and school report cards annually by October 31 to all Illinois school districts, including charter and Article 34 districts.

School report cards must include comprehensive data on student demographics, curriculum offerings, student outcomes, academic progress, school environment, and financial information specified in subsection (2).

Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, school report cards must include data on incidents of violence occurring on school grounds or during school-related activities that resulted in out-of-school suspension, expulsion, or removal to an alternative setting.

School districts must present report cards at a regular board meeting within 30 calendar days of receipt, post them on the district website (if maintained), provide them to local newspapers, and send printed copies to parents upon request or automatically if no website exists.

State Superintendent has discretion to amend or update any metrics on school, district, or state report cards in consultation with education stakeholders.
