Establishes a pilot diversion program for first-time, non-violent offenders under age 21 charged with unlawful use of weapons or aggravated unlawful use of weapon offenses punishable as Class 4 felony or lower, allowing courts to sentence eligible defendants to the program instead of incarceration with defendant and State's Attorney consent.

Defendants are ineligible if they committed the offense during a violent crime, have prior convictions or probation for violent offenses, previously completed the program, were adjudicated delinquent for violent offenses, are 21 years or older, or have an existing order of protection against them.

Program lasts 18 to 24 months and requires defendants to refrain from criminal activity and firearm possession, obtain employment, complete educational or vocational training, pass drug tests, perform 50 hours community service, participate in counseling and educational activities, and pay all fines and costs.

Upon successful program completion, the court shall discharge the defendant and dismiss proceedings; if the defendant violates program conditions, the court may enter judgment and proceed with sentencing.

Program is scheduled to expire on January 1, 2023.
