IL SB1551

Redefines "child" in stalking statutes to mean a person under 17 years of age, or under 18 if the accused is a family member or in a position of trust, authority, or supervision over the victim.

Makes stalking against a child a Class 3 felony and aggravated stalking against a child a Class 2 felony.

Adds stalking (12-7.3) and aggravated stalking (12-7.4) to the list of sex offenses requiring registration under the Sex Offender Registration Act when the victim is under 18 and the defendant is not a parent.

Applies the same "child" definition to aggravated stalking sentencing provisions, establishing enhanced penalties specifically for offenses against minors.
