IL SB1623

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to prohibit prior authorization mandates and utilization management controls on FDA-approved prescription drugs for treating mental illnesses covered under both fee-for-service and managed care medical assistance programs.

Applies restriction only to medications recognized by generally accepted standard medical references as effective for treating conditions listed in the most recent Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders published by the American Psychiatric Association.
