SB1650 Summary

• Extended the deadline to file duty death benefit claims for deaths occurring between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2020 to December 31, 2022, notwithstanding other deadlines in the Line of Duty Compensation Act.

• Applies to law enforcement officers, civil defense workers, civil air patrol members, paramedics, firefighters, chaplains, State employees, and Armed Forces members killed in the line of duty.

• Preserves existing claim deadlines of one year for most covered workers and two years for Armed Forces members killed before October 18, 2004.
