IL SB1681

Amends the Line of Duty Compensation Act to include probation officers in the definition of "law enforcement officer" for purposes of line of duty death benefits.

Probation officers are defined as those meeting the definition in Section 9b of the Probation and Probation Officers Act.

Maintains existing requirements that deaths must occur within one year of injury received during active performance of duties and result from violence or accidental cause.

Excludes deaths resulting from willful misconduct or intoxication, with burden of proof on the Attorney General.
