SB1703 Summary

• Changes the deadline for circuit court clerk assessment reports from February 29, 2020 to March 1, 2021, and annually thereafter on March 1.

• Modifies reporting period to January 1 through December 31 of the previous year for both civil case assessments and criminal/traffic assessments.

• Extends the repeal date of the Criminal and Traffic Assessment Act from January 1, 2022 to January 1, 2023.

• Updates corresponding repeal date in the Clerks of Courts Act Section 27.1b from January 1, 2022 to January 1, 2023.

• Eliminates the requirement to repeal Section 27.1c (assessment report section) and makes it permanent, removing the previous repeal clause.
