IL SB1896

Creates new offense of aggravated criminal sexual assault for persons in positions of trust, authority, or supervision over students aged 18-19 attending public or private secondary school who commit sexual penetration with those students, classified as Class X felony.

Creates new offense of criminal sexual abuse for persons in positions of trust, authority, or supervision over students aged 18-19 attending public or private secondary school who commit sexual conduct with those students, classified as Class 4 felony.

Amends sentencing provisions in Criminal Code sections 11-1.30 and 11-1.50 to include these new offenses in aggravated criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse statutes respectively.

Applies same sentencing enhancements and subsequent offense penalties as other sexual assault convictions, including potential natural life imprisonment for repeat offenders.
