SB1901 Summary

• Expands "predicate activity" under Illinois Street Gang and Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Law to include bribery (33-1), official misconduct (33-3), solicitation misconduct for State government (33-3.1), solicitation misconduct for local government (33-3.2), and legislative misconduct (33-8).

• Allows State's Attorney to seek court orders authorizing interception of private communications when no party consents and the interception may provide evidence of or assist in apprehending persons committing predicate activities under the Illinois Street Gang and Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Law.

• Amends Criminal Code of 2012 (720 ILCS 5/33G-3) and Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 (725 ILCS 5/108B-3).
