IL SB2084

Extends the Economic Development for a Growing Economy Tax Credit (EDGE) carryforward period from 5 taxable years to 15 taxable years for unused credits.

Allows taxpayers to apply unused EDGE credits against tax liability in the 15 taxable years following the year in which the excess credit is computed.

Maintains existing conditions that credits cannot exceed the Incremental Income Tax with respect to the project and cannot be applied for more than 10 years (or 15 years for Corporate Headquarters Relocation Act certified businesses).

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
