IL SB2092

Changes the title of the Veterans and Servicemembers Court Treatment Act to the Veterans, Servicemembers, and Families Court Treatment Act to expand eligibility to family members of veterans and servicemembers.

Defines "family member" as any spouse, former spouse, widow or widower, child (naturally born, adopted, stepchild or ward) of a servicemember or veteran.

Requires defendants who are family members of veterans or servicemembers to be evaluated for eligibility through a Court Assessment Service in addition to existing evaluation processes for veterans and servicemembers.

Extends all provisions of the court treatment program to include family member defendants, including eligibility requirements, procedures, mental health and substance abuse treatment options, and violation/termination provisions.

Maintains existing exclusions from the program for defendants convicted of crimes of violence, those unwilling to participate in treatment, and those ineligible for probation.
