IL SB2147

Prohibits State Board of Elections members and Senate-confirmed appointees from contributing to political committees, serving as officers of candidate political committees, or being designated candidates supported by such committees.

Requires violators to comply within 30 days by either: resigning as officer, removing their name as supported candidate, converting to a limited activity committee, or dissolving the committee.

Defines "limited activity committee" as a political committee for Senate-confirmed appointees or registered lobbyists, restricting it to accepting only personal funds from the officer/candidate for maintenance expenses and limiting expenditures to maintenance, rent/lease, charitable donations, and returning contributions.

Prohibits registered lobbyists from serving as officers of candidate political committees or being designated as supported candidates, with same 30-day compliance requirements.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
